Playground surfaces that are tiled or rolled in can result in uneven surfaces with potential tripping hazards. With PIP rubber, there are no shifts or seams in the material, creating an even flow. As an added benefit of this – PIP surfaces are also wheelchair and walker/cane accessible making it a perfect choice for ultimate accessibility. Additionally, due to its porous design, PIP rubber creates a surface that dries quickly.

Besides safety, PIP rubber is also a highly stylish choice with almost limitless color options. Ranging from the traditional blacktop to your customized mascot colors - you have plenty of options when it comes to poured-in-place rubber. It can also be tailored entirely to your spatial design needs, whether for a larger space or walkways around the playground. Traditionally, the wearing course is comprised of Standard EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) rubber granules, but you have the option to upgrade to TPV (Thermoplastic Vulcanizates) granules in 2 available sizes. Urethane can also be upgraded for more flexibility and UV protection.

Importantly, PIP is also an economical choice as it can be installed quickly and efficiently, thereby saving money on labor costs. No additional work is needed to level the area since the rubber accounts for the landscape variances to create an even surface. Standard PIP Installations include Ultimate Protection inserts under swing bays and slides exits for increased wear protection in these high traffic areas.

Poured-in-place is an environmentally-friendly and durable choice that can offer you everything you want in a safety surface. Poured rubber options for aquatic spaces are also available.

Bonded Rubber is an attractive, wire-free surface that uses clean, 100% recycled shredded rubber tires and a polyurethane binder. This single layer system is installed and trowelled by hand to provide a resilient, seamless, and environmentally friendly surface.

Loose-fill surfacing meets with the minimum ASTM standards when it is properly maintained. Accessories are available to aid in water drainage and weed control, along with the recommended wear mats for displacement protection.

Loose Fill Rubber is a form of loose-fill surfacing that uses rubber chunks comprised of 100% recycled tire rubber. It is clean, wire-free, non-toxic, and does not leach into groundwater.

Engineered Wood Fiber (EWF) is another option and comprises manufactured softwoods and hardwoods that average 1"– 2" in length and contain a maximum of 15% fine particles to aid in compaction. It is a non-toxic surfacing option and does not include paint, chemicals, or additives.
